RIP Steve, you did insanely great!
That day has unfortunately come. The 6th of October 2011 Steve Jobs, the co-founder of the most successful company in the world, has passed after fighting hard against his illness. Steve has left this world after having radically changed it. And this is not something you can say for many people.
There are no words to describe how much this man have influenced our society, it is hard to quantify the loss that we all face today with his premature death (even if most people do not even realise it). This man could see the future in technology and trends in society as anyone could.
His enormous talent and his long visions brought us the PC as we know it today. His incredible determination gave us one of the most successful 3D animation studios of all times, Pixar, capable to give new lifeblood to a struggling and rusty giant such as Disney. His love for music gifted us the iPods and his passion for it has changed forever the music industry. His desire for perfection gave us the best smartphone ever made, the iPhone, which is both extremely useful and incredibly fun. Hands up who misses the times of Symbian devices or stylo-needing touch screens. No hands up, as expected. And finally his incredible insatiability granted us that amazing device that is called iPad. Probably his final gift to all of us.
In few words this guy’s genius has changed the way in which we work, we entertain ourselves and communicate with each other. And I am not exaggerating. Too many times I found myself saying : “Thanks God I was born after Steve”. I can’t imagine a life without my Mac and my iOS devices.. Or to be more accurate, I can imagine it and it would be awful.
It has been a great honour seeing his charisma on the stage during his famous keynotes and how proud he was to present the great products that his company was creating one after another. It has been amazing seeing Apple resurrecting and becoming so great thanks to the intuition of a great man.
It’s incredible to feel so sad for the death of someone that you don’t even know, but I guess a lot of people today share this feeling. All my thoughts go to his family and to anyone closely touched from his loss.
Thank you Steve,
We will all miss you.
Alessandro
